Announcements and Important Events
Three Pioneer Athletic Conference girls soccer teams have recently been named recipients of the United Soccer Coaches High School Team Academic Award. To qualify, a teams varsity roster must have a 3.25 GPA for the school year.
Boyertown qualified for the 15th straight year with a team GPA of 3.75. Upper Perk qualified for the 9th straight year with a 3.60 GPA. Methacton qualified for the 2nd time with a 3.85 GPA. There were a total of ten Pennsylvania girls teams who received the award, with a total of 168 schools nationwide.
All three coaches (Bill Goddard at Boyertown, Bret Smith at Methacton, and Mike Freed at Upper Perk) are extremely proud of the accomplishments of their players both on the field of play and in the classroom. When factoring in the difficulties of Covid altered schedules and virtual learning, all three felt it felt that it gave even greater significance to receiving the award.
