Announcements and Important Events
Yesterday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released the following update: “Fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.”
While the CDC’s updated guidance is yet another step in the right direction, and, Pennsylvania Department of Health Secretary announced yesterday evening that the Commonwealth’s mask order reflects the announcement made by the DOH, please note that currently the DOH mask guidelines include the following under Section 4: A business or a school entity must: Require that all people, including their employees, customers, teachers, students and visitors, wear a face covering and take reasonable steps to enforce the requirement. Therefore, all Boyertown Area School District staff, students, and community members attending District run events will continue to adhere to masking protocols until further notice.
For your reference, currently 66.2% of Pennsylvanians 18+ have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 46.7% of Pennsylvanians 18+ are fully vaccinated. These numbers grow each day, and it is humbling knowing that Boyertown Area School District did our part in vaccinating over 30,000 members of our staff, students and community. As you know, these efforts assisted in paving the way to getting more students back in the classroom and keeping communities healthy.
As always, thank you for your continued cooperation and adherence to all COVID-19 mitigation measures. Your commitment to health and safety is essential for the District to continue to safely offer face to face instruction to our students.
